The truth about the Iranian regime’s new president

Image
By Sadegh Pashm-Foroush The day after the announcement of the results of Iran’s sham presidential election, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei summoned the remaining members of the government of former regime president Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19. In his remarks to them—indirectly addressing new regime president Massoud Pezeshkian—he warned him and reminded him of the “model” of the president in the regime. The supreme leader repeatedly mentioned Raisi and said, “He is truly a model; we must all learn from him.” He then reiterated the concept of “heartfelt belief and practical commitment” to the regime, which Pezeshkian, like all the election candidates, had committed to. Khamenei stated, “Dear Raisi demonstrated as a model that one can possess these mental, heartfelt, and practical qualities as the president of a country and follow them in practice.” Of course, before the sham election, Pezeshkian repeatedly stated that he would continue Raisi...

Who Is Hossein Taeb, Recently Booted From Iran’s IRGC Intelligence Organization?

Image
ten by   Shahriar Kia Last week, the Iranian regime sacked  Hossein Taeb , the longstanding intelligence chief of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and a confidant of the mullahs’ supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and his son Mojtaba. Taeb, a notorious criminal, was removed from his post after 13 years, shortly after several assassinations of the IRGC’s commanders inside Iran and hundreds of operations by the Iranian Resistance aimed at dismantling the regime’s oppressive apparatus, such as the recent takedown of  Tehran’s municipality  and the city’s CCTVs. The news of Taeb’s dismissal was a bombshell as it revealed the depth of the regime’s internal crisis. He was considered “untouchable” due to his close relations with Khamenei and his role in oppressing dissidents. But who is Hossein Taeb? Taeb’s Early Life and his role in the IRGC Hossein Taeb during the Iran-Iraq war Taeb was born in 1963 in Tehran. He joined the IRGC soon after the 1979 revolution. As an IRGC...

Why senior regime officials can’t remain silent on the MEK’s role

Image
By  Farid Mahoutchi In 1980, the mullahs’ regime founder and former supreme leader Ruhollah Khomeini told his loyalists in a speech: “Our enemy is neither in the East nor West, nor in Kurdistan. The enemy is right here, under our nose, in Tehran.” Khomeini’s confidants later admitted that Khomeini and his entire regime were terrified of that main enemy. In 2020, Ahmad Jannati, the head of the Assembly of Experts, recalled that at the time, the regime was afraid, “the MEK will bring the people to the streets.” And now, regime president Ebrahim Raisi is voicing the same trepidations, further admitting to the prominent role the MEK played in countering the regime’s tyranny in the past four decades. Raisi, who on June 27 was attending a ceremony to pay homage to Assadollah Lajevardi, notoriously known as the “Butcher of Evin, said, “The group of hypocrites (regime’s pejorative reference to the MEK) shall eternally be cursed because wherever you see evil and sedition in the count...

By   Matin Karim MEK Resistance Units project images of Resistance leaders in Tehran. Members of  Resistance Units , an expanding network of brave and resilient Iranians associated with the opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ), are escalating their ongoing campaign of measures aimed at weakening the regime’s crackdown across the country. In recent days, the Resistance Units carried out activities in several cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Rasht, Sabzevar, and Isfahan. In Rasht, one of the country’s main northern cities with a large population, anti-regime slogans were aired in public on June 23: “Death to Khamenei, hail to Rajavi!” respectively referring to regime Supreme Leader  Ali Khamenei  and Iranian Resistance leader  Massoud Rajavi . “Death to Khamenei-Raisi!” another slogan read, referring to the regime supreme leader and regime President  Ebrahim Raisi . “Khomeini be damned!” referring to the regime’s first...

Mike Pence Visit With MEK Adds to the Long List of Tehran’s Grievances

Image
Written by  Ali Safavi Former US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Ashraf-3, home to thousands of members of Iran’s principal opposition movement, the  Mujahedin-e-Khalq  (PMOI/MEK), and his meeting with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), on June 23, terrified the ruling theocracy. Though state-run news agencies and tightly controlled TV and newspapers performed a well-orchestrated chorus, they could not conceal the political jolt. Besides rehashing a long list of the regime’s grievances resulting from the relentless four-decade-long campaign by the MEK and the NCRI to unseat the mullahs’ murderous reign, state officials and media attempted to exploit the occasion to tie the Iranian Resistance with the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, all at the same time. Screenshot of the state-run Fars news agency covering the news of VP Mike Pence visiting Ashraf 3 Some officials went beyond the usual dir...
