The truth about the Iranian regime’s new president

Image
By Sadegh Pashm-Foroush The day after the announcement of the results of Iran’s sham presidential election, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei summoned the remaining members of the government of former regime president Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19. In his remarks to them—indirectly addressing new regime president Massoud Pezeshkian—he warned him and reminded him of the “model” of the president in the regime. The supreme leader repeatedly mentioned Raisi and said, “He is truly a model; we must all learn from him.” He then reiterated the concept of “heartfelt belief and practical commitment” to the regime, which Pezeshkian, like all the election candidates, had committed to. Khamenei stated, “Dear Raisi demonstrated as a model that one can possess these mental, heartfelt, and practical qualities as the president of a country and follow them in practice.” Of course, before the sham election, Pezeshkian repeatedly stated that he would continue Raisi...

Iran: No Punishment for Iranian Regime’s Nuclear Violations or for Genocide?

Written by Mohammad Sadat Khansari September 12 that “The U.N. atomic watchdog reached an agreement with Iran on Sunday to solve ‘the most urgent issue’ between them.” This agreement comes at a time when the regime has increased its nuclear extortion. Following the International Atomic Energy Agency’s latest report on Iran’s nuclear activities, there were signs that the UN body is finally losing patience.  IAEA  Director General Rafael Grossi has been credited with saving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, from complete collapse on more than one occasion, by striking temporary agreements with Tehran to prevent inspectors from being kicked out of the country altogether. He struck another deal with the mullahs’ regime while he had earlier expressed concern over Tehran’s nuclear activities. “I am increasingly concerned that issues with unannounced sites remain unresolved and that Iran needs to resolve them as soon as possible,”  Grossi ...

Feckless Western Policy Emboldens Iran Regime Mad Dash to the Bomb

If there were any lingering doubts that the Iranian regime is accelerating its nuclear program despite Western engagement, they should be set aside after two recent reports by the UN nuclear watchdog. Western parties, especially the European Union, should rethink their feckless policy and negotiations vis-à-vis the theocratic regime. The policy of appeasement has failed. On Tuesday, the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA ) released two reports that revealed the regime’s illicit nuclear activities and obstruction of monitoring activities by the agency. The IAEA also warned that the regime has 10 kilograms of uranium enriched at near-weapons grade level. In addition, Tehran has stockpiled more than 80 kilograms of 20 percent enriched uranium. Under the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal, the regime is not allowed to enrich uranium above 3.5 percent. Therefore, Tehran is in clear violation of the nuclear accord. The IAEA warned that its verification and monitoring activities have...

New IAEA Reports Highlights JCPOA Failure in Curbing Iran’s Nuclear

Image
Written by Mahmoud Hakamian The International Atomic Energy Agency recently presented its quarterly  report  on the Iranian regime’s nuclear activities, and it is now clearer than ever that the international community must adopt a new strategy for confronting Tehran’s provocations and halting its progress toward a nuclear weapon. Reacting to the IAEA report, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned Wednesday that time was running out for Iran to return to the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). “I’m not going to put a date on it but we are getting closer to the point at which a strict return to compliance with the JCPOA does not reproduce the benefits that that agreement achieved,” Blinken told reporters in Germany. Yet, the US and the European  signatories  of the deal have refused to change the weak attitude toward the regime despite Tehran’s provocative actions. In absence of such a change, the current...
