The truth about the Iranian regime’s new president

By Sadegh Pashm-Foroush The day after the announcement of the results of Iran’s sham presidential election, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei summoned the remaining members of the government of former regime president Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19. In his remarks to them—indirectly addressing new regime president Massoud Pezeshkian—he warned him and reminded him of the “model” of the president in the regime. The supreme leader repeatedly mentioned Raisi and said, “He is truly a model; we must all learn from him.” He then reiterated the concept of “heartfelt belief and practical commitment” to the regime, which Pezeshkian, like all the election candidates, had committed to. Khamenei stated, “Dear Raisi demonstrated as a model that one can possess these mental, heartfelt, and practical qualities as the president of a country and follow them in practice.” Of course, before the sham election, Pezeshkian repeatedly stated that he would continue Raisi...

A global cry for an end to the appeasement policy toward Iran’s regime

 By Matin Karim

The annual Free Iran summit, which was held from June 30 to July 3, was a global call to world leaders to correct their failed policy toward Iran’s regime. The summit’s message, which was backed by the majority of 29 parliaments and an open letter signed by 117 former world leaders, spoke of the disastrous outcome of the policy of appeasement toward the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran and warned world leaders to take a firm stance toward this regime. The four-day event once again showed the capacity of the Iranian Resistance to rally the world and send a global warning about the imperative to deal with the threats of the religious fascism ruling Iran.

In addition to 500 distinguished personalities who spoke at the four-day event, more than 3,600 parliamentarians from 40 countries added their support by signing statements which underlined the need for and end to the appeasement policy.

Some of the speakers at the event drew a comparison between the mullahs’ regime and Hitler’s Nazi rule, commending the efforts by the Iranian Resistance and condemning the west’s complacency toward the regime.

Ambassador Robert Joseph, the former Undersecretary of State, Arms Control and International Security, who spoke at a Free Iran panel on June 30 about the U.S. policy toward Iran, said, “Can you negotiate with evil? Of course you can negotiate with evil. Hitler and [British Prime Minister Neville] Chamberlain proved that you can negotiate with evil. Chamberlain came back to London waving a piece of paper saying, ‘We’ve got peace in our time.’ And what happened? We know it went to war, but there is a quote of Hitler’s that always stayed with me. The German generals after Munich were very concerned about going into Poland. Hitler assembles his generals, and he tells them, ‘Look. I watched them at Munich. They were nothing but little worms.’ And Germany went into Poland. That’s what appeasement gets you. And I think that’s what we need to avoid.

“Because I think we’re at that point where further appeasement will truly meet Einstein’s definition of insanity: Trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It is clearly doomed to failure. The alternative that I’m talking about is to support the opposition, the democratic opposition. It is to contain and deter the regime… The regime needs to be pressured. I think we’re at a critical point. I think we’re near the breaking point and the last thing we need to do is throw the regime a lifeline as we have in the past.”

When the appeasement policy triggered a war that caused the death of more than 60 million people, there was neither a global rally against appeasement, nor the statements of the majority of several parliaments, nor the warnings of 117 world leaders. But today, thanks to the efforts of the Iranian Resistance, the evil intents of the Iranian regime have become known to the world.

In an op-ed in The Washington Times on June 26, former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge wrote, “In this moment of moral reckoning, Western governments and activists must rise to the occasion and condemn the Iranian regime’s brazen transgressions that have now reached the very heart of Europe. Tehran’s repression of dissent cannot be met with apathy, for such complacency unwittingly lends legitimacy to their oppressive practices, further solidifying the chains of tyranny during times of societal upheaval.”

Governor Ridge stressed, “The world should stand in unwavering solidarity with the Iranian people, for the defense of cherished democratic values, particularly in the West. Together, we can ensure that the suffocating grip of the mullahs on power is loosened, and that the yearnings of the Iranian people for freedom, justice, and dignity find vibrant realization.”

The Iranian people and their Resistance movement have created a strong front against the religious fascism that is trying to wreak havoc to Iran, the region, and the world. This is the opportunity for the world to make the right decision and avoid a repeat of another catastrophic mistake.
